How To Link To Other Posts or Threads
If you need to insert a link to another thread or post in one of your posts (as referenced in General Tips For Posting), use the following handy procedure...so modern, and so convenient. You'll be glad you did!

- Navigate to the post or thread and copy its URL to your computer's clipboard. In most browsers (SeaMonkey Navigator shown here) you can do that by control-clicking (Mac) or right-clicking (Windows) on the title of the post or thread and selecting "Copy Link Location" (or its equivalent) from the contextual menu, as shown here:
- Click on the "Link" icon in the message composition window's toolbar, as shown in the image below.
- Paste the URL that you just copied to your ciipboard into the URL textbox (next to the little chain-link icon, as shown in the image below) in the pop-up window.
- Type the name of the post or thread into the link name text box (next to the little chain-link over "A" icon, as shown in the image above), and then click "OK".
- The message composer inserts the link and its name at the end of your text in the message composition window, not at the cursor location, so if you don't immediately see it where you thought it would be don't freak out. Just scroll to the end of the message composer window and you'll see it there. In the example pictured above, the link looks like this:
- Code:
